The Molekule Air Mini+ has launched sales in Canada and USA at Apple Stores and on Apple.ca, and is what the company says is the first Apple HomeKit certified air purifier.

Molekule told iPhone in Canada its Photo Electrochemical Oxidation (PECO) air purification device can be controlled via the Home app and Siri on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac or HomePod.

The Molekule Air Mini+ has a 360-degree air intake, capable of replacing air in a 250 square foot room every hour. It’s small enough to sit on a table or counter and clean air from all sides. It sports a clean design unlike traditional air purifiers.

“The face of today’s air pollutants is rapidly changing to include things like toxic chemicals from smoke, in addition to bacteria and airborne viruses. We believe this air pollution challenge needs new and advanced technology,” said Jaya Rao, CEO of US-based Molekule, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada.

The air purifier has a patented PECO-Filter, coated with a proprietary catalyst and breaks down VOCs, bacteria, mold, viruses, allergens, and other pollutants at a molecular level when activated by light.

“The expansion of Molekule Air Mini+ to include HomeKit compatibility and availability in Apple stores brings that vision to even more people and enables us to create user experiences that meet the needs of today’s consumers,” added Rao.

The Air Mini+ has a sensor designed to detect particles, “giving you a window into the air quality of the room it’s operating in.”

The Molekule Air Mini+ is available on Apple.ca for a hefty $749.95 CAD and is showing delivery by October 23 to 27.
