The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has invited Canadians to share their views on telephone, wireless, and Internet services services in the North, particularly those areas which are served by Northwestel.
The CRTC says this feedback will help it determine whether more needs to be done to ensure Canadians living there have access to high-quality services at reasonable rates.
Canadians are encouraged to share their opinions by January 20, 2021 by either filling out the online form, by writing to the Secretary General, CRTC, Ottawa, or by sending a fax to 819-994-0218. All comments submitted will form part of the public record and will inform the CRTC’s decision.
Among other things, the CRTC is seeking comments on:
Northwestel serves a population of 125,000 residents in the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, northern British Columbia, and Fort Fitzgerald, Alberta.
