Kari Ride-Sharing App Launches in Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island-based ride-sharing app Kari has today announced its official launch on App Store and Google Play, allowing PEI to hail a ride with it’s newest public transportation option.

Drivers and riders are required to follow standards put in place by health professionals as well as Kari’s community standards to ensure a safe experience and to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

“We are so excited to have been able to launch in PEI before the end of 2020 giving many more islanders an added option so they never have an excuse to get behind the wheel while they’re impaired.” says Kari you-founder Matt MacLeod.

Drivers who use Kari will be held to a high standard of service ensuring that riders will feel safe and comfortable when booking a ride with the app. Along with the licensing standards released by the province, each driver is screened through a criminal background check and must use a safe vehicle that is damage free, no more than 10 years old with fewer than 250,000km and be ready for winter with snow tires.

Kari is now also accepting applications of drivers across PEI and will add New Brunswicker and Nova Scotia to this list soon.
