Apple Fitness+ ‘Time to Walk’ Audio Stories Feature May Launch Soon [Update]

Update: Time to Walk is now live in Canada.

It appears as though Apple may be launching its curated audio stories feature ‘Time to Walk’ on Apple Fitness+ in due time. Described as “an audio experience in the Workout app where guests share inspiring stories as you walk,” ‘Time to Walk’ will be available to subscribers and Apple Watch users upon its release.

The feature was noticed within the release notes of the watchOS 7.3 release candidate beta, as reported by MacRumors. A screenshot of the promotional video was shared on Twitter by user Othmane. According to the user, Twitter released and quickly pulled a video showcasing the ‘Time to Walk’ feature.

The screenshot included in Othmane’s tweet shows that Apple Fitness+ users can navigate into the app via their Apple Watch and listen to audio stories told by guests as they take walks. In the screenshot, a 30-minute ‘Time to Walk’ story is told by Canadian singer Shawn Mendes. Othmane has said that additional stories feature singer Dolly Parton, NBA’s Draymond Green and actor Uzo Aduba.

Apple Fitness+ launched in Canada on December 14th, 2020. Apple Watch owners can sign up for $12.99 CAD per month or a yearly subscription of $99.99 CAD. The service offers fitness activities such as high-intensity interval training (HIIT), strength, yoga, dance, core, cycling, treadmill, rowing, and mindful cooldown. The app and subscription are also available in the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.

watchOS 7.3 is expected to release sometime this week, which if true, ‘Time to Walk’ will be available in the same release window.
