Amazon Alexa on iOS Gains Dark Mode, New Accessibility Feature

Alexa dark mode

Amazon has updated its Alexa app on iOS to bring dark mode support, plus text scaling for improved accessibility.

The Alexa iOS app will default to light mode, but will change to dark mode to match your smartphone’s display settings. Dark mode is “coming soon” for the Android Alexa app, an Amazon spokesperson told iPhone in Canada.

“Now, if you set your device’s font size to be larger than the standard size, you will see larger text on most screens of the Alexa app proportional to your preferred OS-level accessibility setting,” explained Amazon. For those with certain vision impairments, this new feature may be helpful.

Amazon says the dark mode rollout for the Alexa iOS app is happening worldwide, with a full iOS rollout expected by the end of February.
