Dave Chappelle Spotted with Apple Watch Black Unity Edition

In honour of Black History Month, Apple partnered with and showcased the work of 30 African-American photographers, and also released a new variant of the Series 6 Apple Watch — the Apple Watch Black Unity Edition.

The limited-edition Apple Watch Black Unity comes with a strap that’s inspired by the Pan-African flag and made from a robust, pragmatic material known as fluoroelastomer, “Truth. Power. Solidarity.” engraved on its closure, a body made out of 100% recycled, aerospace-grade aluminum, and “Black Unity.” laser-etched onto its back.

In a photo posted to Instagram by Mathieu Bitton (@candytman), prominent stand-up comedian Dave Chappelle is seen sporting the limited edition smartwatch (via Hodinkee).

With the vibrant, colourful strap on display, there’s no mistaking that the digital timepiece on Chappelle’s arm is indeed the limited edition Series 6 Apple Watch.

Chappelle is quite well-known for being a wristwatch connoisseur, so the fact that he forewent his mechanical Breitling and Rolex Daytona in favour of a digital Apple Watch for a performance with Joe Rogan in Austin, Texas, goes to show how much the sentiment behind the device speaks to him.

Along with the limited edition smartwatch, Apple also released a Black Unity watch face that’s available to anyone running the latest watchOS.

As can be seen in the picture, Chappelle decided to take it one step further: using his own logo, the letter C, stylized in the Black Unity colours, as his custom watch face.
