‘iPhone 13’ Said to Feature 120Hz ProMotion Display, Astrophotography, and More

In his latest YouTube video, Apple leaker Max Weinbach has claimed that Apple’s next-generation iPhone 13 will feature an always-on 120Hz ProMotion display, will feature an advanced camera with astrophotography capabilities, and a stronger MagSafe system (via MacRumors).

Weinbach, who owns the EverythingApplePro YouTube channel, notes that according to his sources, Apple will be including an always-on display in its ‌iPhone 13‌ lineup, a technology that will be similar to the always-on display in the Apple Watch Series 5 and later.

The leaker adds that iPhone 13’s always-on display will look like a “toned down Lock screen,” where the clock and battery charge are always visible, and past notifications are shown through “a bar and icons.”

The leaker also “confirms” that a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate is happening on the 2021 Pro ‌iPhone‌ models, a feature that was widely rumored to appear on the ‌iPhone 12‌. Internally, ‌MagSafe‌ will be getting “considerably” stronger, according to the leak.

Astrophotography, the photography of astronomy, typically requires complicated camera setups to proficiently capture the nighttime’s dark sky. The integration of the ability into the ‌iPhone‌ is expected to be seamless, with the leak claiming the ‌iPhone‌ will automatically switch to the mode when it registers a user pointing to the sky.

The leaker also claims that this year’s iPhones will also be able to shoot videos in portrait mode, a feature currently only available for photos that adds a depth feel by blurring the background and keeping the center subject fully in focus.
