‘iPhone 13’ to Come in Matte Black Option, Anti-Fingerprint Coated Steel Edges: Report

Apple leaker Max Weinbach has just claimed in a recent video on his YouTube channel EverythingApplePro, that this year’s ‘iPhone 13’ lineup will have a new matte black colour option for the Pro and Pro Max models (via MacRumors).

Weinbach said the colour is a redesigned graphite but is “borderline black.” He added that this year’s iPhone models will also feature a new stainless steel coating that reduces smudges and fingerprints, a new rear-camera design, and improved noise cancelation with beam-forming technology for phone calls.

Apple is looking to include an always-on 120Hz ProMotion display in the ‘iPhone 13’ lineup, Weinbach continued.

According to Weinbach, Apple is also experimenting with an orange, almost bronze-like color for the new iPhones, but he says it’s unlikely to launch.

Moving to the rear, Weinbach says the new camera module will not be completely flat but that each lens will protrude less from the main body. Additionally, the immediate run-up to the camera module will be smaller, reducing the camera system’s thickness entirely.

Regarding the camera, Weinbach claimed that the portrait mode on the new iPhones will be overhauled greatly and that it will now rely heavily on a new process that combines both data from the lenses as well as LiDAR.
