Petro Canada iOS App Debuts Contactless Payments at the Pump with Apple Pay and More

Petro Canada has updated its iPhone app today to introduce contactless payment at the pump.

The April 8th update now lets you start a fuelling session from the app, then pay with Apple Pay or credit cards. The digital wallet within Petro Canada supports up to five credit cards, while receipts can be emailed to you for tracking purposes.

Once you’re at a Petro Canada gas station, launch the app and choose the “fuel up” option. You then select the pump number you’re at, choose the max amount you want to fuel up to, select your payment option, then confirm and pre-authorize the transaction.

You will then select your fuel grade and start filling up your car. Once complete you get a summary of the visit plus an iOS share sheet option to export the receipt.
