Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta Launch for Canada Delayed Again

In an update on the progress of Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta V9, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that the launch of FSD V9 in Canada has been delayed once again by “a few months,” Tesla North is reporting.

“FSD Beta V9.0 will blow your mind,” noted Musk, while adding that the feature will be launching in the U.S. in the next couple of weeks or so. “Gating factor is achieving & proving higher safety with pure vision than with vision+radar. We are almost there,” he Tweeted.

During Tesla’s recent Q1 earnings report, the company said its plan to switch to radar-less FSD was ahead of schedule for the U.S. market. The company also touted a “vision-only system is ultimately all that is needed for full autonomy.”

So while the FSD beta launch continues to be delayed for Canadians, let’s hope it can fully deliver on its promises instead of releasing a version that is not the best.
