Amazon Canada Postpones 2021 Prime Day Due to COVID-19

Amazon Canada has confirmed it has paused its Prime Day shopping event for 2021, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The company told iPhone in Canada in an email they place “tremendous value on the well-being and safety” of employees worldwide, as they face challenges related to COVID-19. With the growing impact of COVID-19 in Canada, Amazon says it has decided to postpone Prime Day here, along with India as well.

As for a new date for 2021 Prime Day in Canada, nothing was added on that front, other than to wait for future developments.

The news of Prime Day being paused in Canada was earlier reported by CNBC. Despite Prime Day being paused in Canada, it will continue as scheduled in the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Spain and China, set to take place in June.
