Snapchat Outage Still Affecting Users, Despite Official Fix Being Released Overnight

Snapchat has been undergoing a massive outage, affecting many in Canada, the US, and across the globe. Although the issues have subsided for many, thanks to an official fix released early this morning, users are still experiencing issues.

On July 28, Snapchat was hit with a huge crash that affected the ability to properly use the app for many. Some users were unable to log in, while others were unable to send snaps or create content. Via DownDetector, upwards of 120,000 users were experiencing problems due to the crash. Last night, Snapchat announced on Twitter that a fix was released and that users should “manually update your app in the App Store!” However, the issue appears to still be persistent.

In response to Snapchat’s tweet, many users have come forward to state their app is still not working. Many have posted videos of the app crashing upon launch. Others are unable to log in.

Snapchat has not come forward with another response. Although users are still experiencing issues, the amount of affected users does seem to have gone down significantly overnight. It’s important to point out that if you are still experiencing troubling launching or using Snapchat, make sure you have version 11.34.1.35 installed on your device.

The Snapchat team will likely be monitoring the situation throughout the day and provide more updates via Twitter.
