Emergency Test Alert to Hit Cellphones on Nov. 17: Here’s When It Will Happen

Canada’s next Alert Ready emergency alert system test will hit TV, radio and cellphones on November 17, 2021.

For those with cellphones connected to LTE wireless networks, you’ll receive the alert if your device is not set to silent or turned off. The sound is freakishly loud. It’s not possible to disable emergency test alerts on cellphones, but you can try these workarounds. Shift workers, be warned.
