Apple Has Reportedly Found Periscope Telephoto Lens Supplier for ‘iPhone 15’
According to a new report by The Elec, Apple has finalized a deal with a new supplier of telephoto lens components for a periscope camera system expected to debut next year in its ‘iPhone 15 Pro’ models (via MacRumors).

The publication notes that South Korean firm Jahwa Electronics is planning to spend 191 billion won ($155 million) on building plants to produce new optical image stabilization (OIS) actuators.
Apple is believed to have visited the company’s new facilities and it is speculated that the investment is being made so that Jahwa can begin supplying Apple with OIS actuators from 2023. The OIS actuators, which combine OIS and autofocus functions in one, are likely to be for telephoto cameras in 2023 iPhones.
Apple usually asks suppliers to build production lines exclusively for its own parts and components, but the new facilities set to be built in Gumi would require Apple’s approval once they’re finished, and the whole process would take a year from now to conclude.
A periscope system reflects the light by an angled mirror towards the camera’s image sensor, enabling users to zoom in further without blurring the image.

I hate to say it, but the iPhone 14 (not 15) might be the one that gets me to switch…
Samsung Your Phone Windows thing, complete fail, and doesn’t work with a Mac. I honestly like my Macbook + Android phone combination and don’t really like how basic an iPhone feels compared to Android, but its the seamless integration that is making me consider it.
Its nice taking calls on your computer, and replying to sms…
You can do that now with Signal on a Mac with Android. I do it all the time, assuming of course that you can convince your contacts to use Signal.
That said, I’m in your boat, I’ve now changed jobs at my company and don’t need my android for work as much on a daily basis, when I need to do “more,” the Iphone doesn’t usually cut it but that won’t matter as much anymore so I may switch as soon as updates for my Note 10 plus end. Or I might just make a “want” purchase before then.
And there’s the problem… No way my contacts are going to use yet another app just for this. It’s really an Android problem, the integration with Laptops & Desktops is to be frank, piss-poor. No SMS / MMS, No Calls, No Video, No File Transfer easily (sure you can bluetooth, but have you seen that 129 KB/s transfer rate)… What Google needs to produce is an Android & Me app for computers that does all the above.
