Telus PureFibre Coming to Quebec’s Granit Region and Wood Buffalo, Alberta

Telus announced on Thursday it will invest $14 million to expand its PureFibre network to Quebec’s Granit Region, offering high-speed internet in Frontenac, Lac-Mégantic and Sainte-Cécile-de-Whitton, and select homes on the fringes of Audet and Lac-Drolet.

The investment is coupled with over $5 million from joint federal and provincial funding as part of Operation High Speed.

“Ninety-nine per cent of families and businesses in our Quebec territory are connected to our PureFibre network and we continue to invest with the objective of connecting all households to high speed internet by September 2022,” said Nathalie Dionne, TELUS’ Interim Vice-President, Home Solutions and Customer Excellence in Quebec.

PureFibre Expanding to Wood Buffalo, Alberta

Telus said its $21 million PureFibre investment in Wood Buffalo, Alberta, is now breaking ground, with construction slated for this summer. The company says it expects over 90% of homes and businesses to be connected to PureFibre by the end of 2023.
