Rogers vs Telus vs Bell vs Freedom: Best Cellphone Plans – August 2026

Four smartphones on a desk displaying mobile carrier logos: Rogers, Telus, Bell, and Freedom Mobile.

With a blink of an eye, we are into the first week of August. Let’s take a look at the latest cellphone plans from Rogers, Telus, Bell and Freedom Mobile, as we enter the official month of back to school deals, and see how they compared to July.

Rogers

  • $65/60GB
  • $70/100GB Canada-US for 24 months (Mexico removed)
  • $85 Unlimited data: Canada-US-Mexico-Caribbean for 24 months
  • $100 Unlimited data: Global (27 countries); Priority network access; 5 year price guarantee

What we’re seeing here from Rogers is the removal of Mexico roaming in the $70 plan. But everything else has stayed the same.

Telus

  • $65/60GB (was $60) up to 250 Mbps
  • $70/100GB (was $65)
  • $85 (was $80) Unlimited Canada-US-Mexico talk; 5GB/day roaming cap
  • $100 (was $95) Unlimited Global (68 destinations); 5GB/day roaming cap

Telus here has increased prices by $5 across the board, while 5GB/day roaming caps now match Bell. The $95 unlimited Canada plan was removed.

Bell

  • $65/60GB
  • $70/100GB Canada-US; SD streaming; 5GB/day roaming
  • $85 Unlimited Canada-US-Mexico; HD streaming; 5GB/day roaming
  • $100 Unlimited Global (65 destinations, 5GB roaming/day)

No changes from Bell here, but we’re just starting the month of August.

Freedom Mobile (All plans include global roaming)

  • $35/10GB (was 25GB) + 1GB Roam Beyond
  • $40/70 (was 75GB) + 1GB Roam Beyond
  • $45/125GB (was 100GB) + 5GB Roam Beyond
  • $50/175GB + 10GB Roam Beyond
  • $60/250GB + 10GB (was 20GB) Roam Beyond
  • $70/250GB + 20GB Roam Beyond (new)

Freedom Mobile debuted back to school offers last month like other carriers, but mixed up its data amounts on the lower plans. But the main change is the added $70 plan to get 20GB of Roam Beyond data, when previously you could have just paid $60. All plans $45 and up are labeled as “back to school offer” so they will likely disappear soon.

Expect more plan changes as we move deeper into August and even more as we eventually approach the fall and the Black Friday. Let’s see what carriers have planned this time around.
