With a blink of an eye, we are into the first week of August. Let’s take a look at the latest cellphone plans from Rogers, Telus, Bell and Freedom Mobile, as we enter the official month of back to school deals, and see how they compared to July.
Rogers
What we’re seeing here from Rogers is the removal of Mexico roaming in the $70 plan. But everything else has stayed the same.
Telus
Telus here has increased prices by $5 across the board, while 5GB/day roaming caps now match Bell. The $95 unlimited Canada plan was removed.
Bell
No changes from Bell here, but we’re just starting the month of August.
Freedom Mobile (All plans include global roaming)
Freedom Mobile debuted back to school offers last month like other carriers, but mixed up its data amounts on the lower plans. But the main change is the added $70 plan to get 20GB of Roam Beyond data, when previously you could have just paid $60. All plans $45 and up are labeled as “back to school offer” so they will likely disappear soon.
Expect more plan changes as we move deeper into August and even more as we eventually approach the fall and the Black Friday. Let’s see what carriers have planned this time around.

Back in February and march these plan were much more cheaper than now. These probably are worse back to school plan.

Where are all the other cell phone plans from other carriers? Personally, I think it’s about time we left out Rogers, Telus, and Bell for any cell phone package review. They are all expensive, all the same, and a waste of time.
There are better, and cheaper plans which we have failed to mention? Adding Freedom to this article is start. Yet we have single out some of the most expensive, and call it best cell phone plans? Try again please.

ChatrMobile does (for me) $25/70GB+10GB extra w/auto-pay unlimited calls Can+US nation wide. Unlimited texting world wide. Speed throttling after all data is used. Unused data is not rolled over.
I have been $35 for 100 gb with Bell. No US or Global roaming data. Don’t care, don’t travel to the US with trump in power

My plan with Freedom is $60 for 10gig at 5G then goes to 4G unlimited. I am just coming to the end of my first year of 2.
No. Koodo is owned by Telus. Virgin & Lucky are part of Bell (BCE) I know because I’ve been a longtime Shareholder of both BCE & Telus. Thank you for being a Subscriber.
Do to the fact that Quebec based greedy bell, terrible Telus and rotten rogers, are all refusing to stop charges when people want to switch plans so I have been with bell they suck, Telus they suck too but not as bad, and why they revived rotten corrupt crooked scumbags Rogers is beyond me, they fell away cause they were FRAUDSTERS. So I am going to freedom, I heard there are no surprises and they are a great company. We shall see, but I’m pretty sure they won’t be around much!
About 18 months ago the plans were better. We have a Freedom plan that is $40 for 250gb in Can, US, Mexico. Plus 50 gb roaming in almost all other countries.
