For those buying televisions from Costco, the retailer offers extended warranties beyond the standard manufacturer’s terms, which usually are at one year.

In a recent update, new purchases of Costco’s Asurion ExcellencePlus+ Protection Plans for televisions now offer six total years of 24/7 coverage, up from four.

“Get long term peace of mind for your television with an ExcellencePlus+ Protection Plan. If your product has a covered failure during the Plan’s term, your product will be repaired or replaced. You will never pay for a covered failure. There are no deductibles,” explains the extended warranty product, which starts its coverage after your manufacturer’s warranty and the Costco Concierge Program expires.

The Costco Concierge program offers free technical support for electronic devices and also extends the manufacturer’s warranty on televisions, projectors, major appliances and computers (excluding tablets) to two years from your purchase date, if the manufacturer’s warranty offering is under two years.

Costco also adjusted pricing of these extended TV warranties, which vary in price based on the cost of your unit. The warranty for TVs priced from $1,000 to $1,499 dropped $10 to $89.99, instead of $99.99, according to RFD. But some other extended TV warranties also increased in price.

Again, if you’re investing in a more expensive television for the home, extended warranties from Costco may offer you peace of mind should your expensive unit run into any issues.
