Ubisoft Officially Reveals The Division Resurgence, a Free-to-Play Game Coming to iOS and Android

Ubisoft has officially revealed its new entry in The Division series for mobile. The Division Resurgence is a free-to-play third-person shooter in development for iOS and Android.

The Division Resurgence is said to be set in the same universe as The Division and The Division 2. The new title is said to see players take on the role of one of the first wave of Strategic Homeland Division (SHD) Agents. The game also sees the return of New York City as a focal setting for the game. In addition to its official announcement, Ubisoft released a brief trailer for the game.

Details are still fairly sparse for The Division Resurgence. However, Ubisoft has confirmed that the game is playable solo though co-op is also an option for players who want to team up. The game will include story missions as well as PVE elements.

The Division Resurgence has been developed from the ground up for mobile. Thus, the game offers a user interface designed for a mobile experience. However, classic elements from The Division will be available.

Ubisoft confirms that The Division Resurgence will offer new class roles in the game. New York City will be ripe with challenging enemy factions, similar to the core games. Players will work towards a “block-by-block battle to protect civilians and build a better future.”

Gear and customization have always been a big focus for The Division. Naturally, The Division Resurgence sees the return of loadout customization and looting. The game features a crafting and modding system to enrich weapons, armour, and more. However, Ubisoft has not discussed how these may be affected by will likely include microtransaction elements.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has not revealed the release date for The Division Resurgence. However, eager players can sign up for a chance to participate in upcoming tests at the official Resurgence website.
