E3 to Return to Los Angeles in June 2023, in Partnership with PAX Organizers ReedPop

E3 is set to return with an in-person event in 2023. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) confirms that the video game conference will return to Los Angeles in June 2023 in partnership with ReedPop.

Prior to the pandemic, E3 was the world’s premier celebration of the video game medium. Each year, media and enthusiasts would make their way to the Los Angeles Convention Center to experience keynote conferences and hands-on demos. However, E3 transitioned to a digital-only event in 2021. Following that, plans for 2022 were cancelled as pandemic concerns continued.

Now, E3 will return with an in-person event during the second week of June, the ESA confirms. In partnership with ReedPop, a veteran event production company, E3 will welcome publishers, developers, journalists, content creators, manufacturers, buyers, and licensors.

ReedPop is known for its work organizing many tradeshows and events within the video game and entertainment industry including PAX, New York Comic Con, and Star Wars Celebration.

“We are thrilled to bring back E3 as an in-person event with ReedPop, a global leader in producing pop culture events.” continued Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of the ESA. “The past three years have confirmed that E3 convenes our industry like no other event. ReedPop brings world-class talent and a keen understanding of the video game industry, which will serve to enhance the E3 experience for years to come.”

Currently, there’s no word on the exact date of E3 2023. However, given that it is confirmed to be held during the second week of June, it’s likely that publisher conferences like Microsoft, Ubisoft, Square Enix, etc. may start on June 3rd, running until June 5th, where the convention doors will open for the week.

The ESA also confirms that a “streamlined and secure media registration” for E3 2023 will begin in late 2022. This follows after previous years’ leaks raised concerns over security and the aggregation of personal information from the ESA.

In the following months, confirmation on exhibitors and event schedules will be updated as well as hotels and travel guides.
