Hyundai to Release All-New Bluelink Smart App in Canada on August 19 [Update]

As reported by the folks over at Tesla North, an all-new version of the Hyundai Bluelink smart app will be released to the residents of Canada on August 19.

Hyundai

“Coming soon! Your Bluelink app will have an all-new look with all-new features. You will be able to download the MyHyundai with Bluelink app on August 19th,” Hyundai wrote in an email.

The email also notes that users not already enrolled in Bluelink should contact dealers. Additionally, any who are already enrolled but have forgotten their password should also call their Hyundai dealership.

While the company has not mentioned whether the smart app will be available for iPhone users, Android users, or both, it is quite likely that it will be released for download on both platforms.

The Bluelink smart app offers features such as destination search, vehicle dashboard, and more.

Update August 22: A Hyundai spokesperson told iPhone in Canada the Bluelink app “is currently going through the Apple Store approval process and will be released concurrently with the Android version. We hope to launch the latest version of Bluelink in Canada this week.”

You can check analytics about your vehicle, fuel level, KM’s driven, when it’s due for a service, where you last parked it etc. Not to mention being able to see if your doors are unlocked, windows are down, lights are on and remotely turn them on/off as needed

You can also set preferences to start your car and have the car be warmed up/cooled down before you get in it and have the heated seats and steering wheel warm up

It’s a really handy app, the only issue is it’S sometimes really slow to connect to the vehicle, it’s not automatic

Don’t forget the really obnoxious feature of it constantly blinking its headlights if you remote start it. Great for those 5am starts when you want to annoy all your neighbours by strobe lighting their bedroom windows.
