Anyone know the difference between Eero 6 and 6+? As far as I can see, 160 MHz channel support, and PoE support. Am I missing anything else?
The 6+ has a dedicated channel for the mesh devices (backhaul), and supports higher throughput. I have the 6 Pro here and we get 500mbps+ on streaming. I can’t see the point in upgrading.
Oh ok. Are you sure? Because on the Eero website it says that the 6+ has the same dual band 2×2 2.4GHz and 2×2 5GHz radios. Only the 6 pro has the tri band support with 2×2 2.4GHz and 2×2 5GHz and a second 5 GHz which is 4×4 (which would give a big speed boost to intel macs, as most of them are 3×3 802.11ac).
The 6+ does support 160 MHz channels on the 5 GHz band, which in theory could double throughput, but no Apple devices support 160 MHz channels on the 5 GHz band so it’s of no benefit to Apple users. They do support 160 channels on 6GHz 6E networks tho now, with the new iPad.
