XP Game Summit, the annual event bringing developers, investors, and professionals all together under one roof returns this month in Toronto from June 13th to 14th.
The summit is once again being organized by XP Gaming, Inc., and is designed to help bolster the $5.5 billion gaming industry within Canada. Offering industry members a chance to network, learn, and hear from one another, XP Game Summit aims to feature a robust lineup of talks and masterclasses. These will be split across three major stages and cover everything from business, development, IP and production. In partnership with Interactive Ontario, the Indie Superboost will also be held this year.
This year’s focus is directed towards IP development. Keynote speakers for the event include Dr. Michael Schmalz who has helped work on Warframe from London, Ontario’s Digital Extremes. Trey Smith of Vancouver’s Blackbird Interactive will also be speaking.
Over the course of June 13th and June 14th, over 50 talks and panels will be held. The full programming schedule includes industry professionals such as Erin Roach, Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Canada, Ubisoft, who will speak on DEI in the workplace. Xalavier Nelson Jr, the Studio Head of Strange Scaffold, joins to talk about the challenges faced by developing seven games at once. CEO of Certain Affinity Max Hoberman will be on a discussion regarding negotiating and deal-making.

The event kicks off a week-long celebration of gaming in Canada. Toronto Games Week runs from June 13th to June 19th, with dozens of activations and events organized by various companies, creators, and communities. Check out a full schedule of Toronto Games Week here.
XP Game Summit 2024 takes place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Toronto. Ticket information can be found on the official website. VIP Passes are also available and include access to a dinner reception and VIP lounge.
