Walmart Canada Promo: Free Delivery Pass for 90 Days

Last year, Walmart Canada launched a new subscription program called Delivery Pass, offering unlimited next-day delivery of eligible items, including groceries and other store merchandise. Essentially, Delivery Pass is like Amazon’s Prime membership.

Delivery Pass costs $89/year or $8.97/month, but right now you can get a free 90-day trial of the service, which first launched in Ottawa but is also available widely in Ontario, Quebec and B.C. now.

This 90-day free trial started last week for new subscribers and goes until July 17, 2024, which over course overlaps Amazon’s Prime Day (July 16-17), so it looks like Walmart wants to let Prime customers experience its similar service as well.

According to Walmart, Delivery Pass was voted the “best new grocery delivery service by consumers”, according to a 2024 BrankSpark survey.

You can sign up for the Delivery Pass trial, then cancel and you’ll still have your 90 days to use. Walmart says tipping is optional but 100% of tips go to drivers. Let us know what you think of Walmart Delivery Pass in the comments.

We shop at Walmart for groceries, and over the last year or two we've noticed that Walmart's shoppers are almost outnumbering the regular customers such as us. I realize we're stuck in the past, have a car to drive to the store, and prefer to pick our own items and perhaps discover some new ones. I assume younger folks either don't have a car, find taxis too expensive, or simply don't have the time to shop? It's a puzzling trend, but obviously Walmart, along with the other stores offering shopping and delivery services have caught on to this business opportunity.
