ChatGPT Free Users Can Now Generate Images with DALL-E 3

OpenAI has expanded the ability of its ChatGPT AI tool to generate images using the advanced DALL-E 3 model to free users as well.

Initially, this feature was exclusive to subscribers of the ChatGPT Plus plan, but as of now, all users on the free tier can create up to two images per day.

This new development was announced on X (formerly Twitter), where ChatGPT’s official account wrote:

“We’re rolling out the ability for ChatGPT Free users to create up to two images per day with DALL·E 3. Just ask ChatGPT to create an image for a slide deck, personalize a card for a friend, or show you what something looks like.”

DALL-E 3, launched in September last year, represents a significant improvement over its predecessor. One of its most notable features is the seamless integration with ChatGPT, which allows users to generate prompts for image creation directly within the chat interface.

This enhancement simplifies the process of making images, especially for users who may not be familiar with prompt engineering.

The rollout of this feature is happening gradually, meaning not all users may have immediate access. However, some free-tier users have already reported being able to generate images before encountering the daily limit.

By offering limited access to DALL-E 3 on the free tier, OpenAI is allowing more users to experience the capabilities of AI-generated art, potentially increasing engagement and interest in their paid services.
