Google has introduced the Pixel Buds Pro 2, featuring a custom-designed Tensor A1 chip that improves audio quality, noise cancellation, and battery life. This marks the first time a Tensor chip has landed in its Pixel Buds.
The new earbuds are 24% lighter and 27% smaller than their predecessor, offering a more comfortable and secure fit with a twist-to-adjust stabilizer and four different eartip sizes.
The Tensor A1 chip powers advanced Active Noise Cancellation, which adapts to your environment up to 3 million times per second, making it twice as effective as previous models, according to Google.
The chip also ensures clear, detailed sound by dedicating separate processing for music and noise cancellation. Despite the smaller size, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 deliver up to 8 hours of battery life with noise cancellation enabled, and up to 30 hours with the charging case.
The earbuds also feature the company’s Gemini virtual AI assistant, offering hands-free assistance for tasks like navigation and reminders, even when your phone is locked. Other features include Clear Calling, Conversation Detection, spatial audio with head tracking, and a new Find My Device Network.
Today, Google also officially unveiled its Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphones.
Pixel Buds Pro 2 are available for pre-order at $299 in Canada, with a release date set for September 26, 2024.
