Apple Podcasts Introduces Web App for Cross-Platform Listening

Apple has just taken a significant step in expanding its popular Podcasts service by launching a new web app, now accessible at podcasts.apple.com (via 9to5Mac).

This move allows users to access their entire podcast library and Up Next queue directly from their desktop web browsers, including Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.

Previously, a full desktop experience was only available to macOS users through a dedicated Podcasts app. With this new web app, Apple is making it easier for users who have an iPhone but use a Windows laptop or other non-Apple devices to access their podcasts without missing a beat.

The new web app is fully synchronized with the user’s Apple Account, allowing them to continue listening to their favorite shows from where they left off, regardless of the device they are using.

In addition to syncing your existing library, the web app offers the same powerful features as the native Podcasts app on Apple devices. Users can search for new podcasts, follow shows, browse through the extensive catalog of millions of podcasts, and even explore the Top Charts.

For those who subscribe to premium podcast services, the web app provides full access to paid subscriptions, and users can also purchase new subscriptions directly through the website.

To start using Apple Podcasts on the web, simply visit podcasts.apple.com in your preferred browser. The web app is designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate, offering a familiar experience to those already using the Apple Podcasts app on other devices.

However, it’s worth noting that if you access the website from an iPhone or iPad, you’ll be automatically redirected to the native Podcasts app instead.
