Amazon Expands Vancouver Tech Hub with New Atrium at The Post

Amazon has expanded its Vancouver Tech Hub with the opening of a new 43,000-square-foot atrium at The Post, a key office building where more than 4,500 employees work across Amazon Web Services, Worldwide Amazon Stores, and Devices teams.
The new atrium offers open-plan, light-filled spaces including a café, event venue, break-out areas, and meeting rooms designed to enhance collaboration among employees.

Designed by B+H Architects, the atrium features 22-foot-high ceilings and a unique mural made of vintage mailbox doors, reflecting the building’s history as Vancouver’s Main Post Office, located downtown on West Georgia Street.
“Our investment in The Post reflects Amazon’s continued commitment to our Vancouver Tech Hub,” said Jesse Dougherty, Amazon VP, in a statement to iPhone in Canada. “This new space will be an ideal location for our teams to gather and invent on behalf of customers. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the impact of Amazon’s investments in downtown Vancouver, bringing thousands of employees to the city centre in a building that also offers retail and other amenities for the broader community to enjoy.”

The Post’s redevelopment, led by QuadReal Property Group and MCM Architects, has preserved much of its original architecture and aims to achieve LEED Gold Certification through sustainable design practices such as waste heat recovery and energy-efficient building systems.
Amazon occupies all 1.1 million square feet of office space at The Post, which includes a new atrium connecting the 21-floor South Tower and the 22-floor North Tower. The company completed its move into the South Tower earlier this year, with the North Tower slated to open in 2026.
