Apple has introduced a new Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, that allows users to access and adjust the camera settings quickly.

The Camera Control button is a new addition to the iPhone 16 lineup, including the iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. This button enables users to instantly open the Camera app and access several useful camera-related settings

Besides taking photos or recording videos, users can also utilize this button to access additional camera-related apps, such as Code Scanner, Magnifier, and even third-party camera apps.

With a single click, the camera is ready to use, and with a few more taps, adjustments can be made to enhance the shot. Here’s how it works.

To take a photo or record a video using Camera Control:

  • Open the Camera App: Click the Camera Control button once to launch the Camera app instantly.
  • Capture a Photo: Click the button again to snap a photo.
  • Record a Video: For video recording, simply press and hold the button. If your camera is set to Video mode by default, clicking the button once will immediately start recording.

The Camera Control feature also allows users to fine-tune various camera settings to suit their creative needs. Once the Camera app is open, users can double-press the Camera Control button to bring up an overlay of available settings.

Some of the most common settings you can control include:

  • Exposure: Adjust the brightness of your shot by increasing or decreasing exposure levels.
  • Depth: Modify the background blur (depth-of-field effect) when taking Portrait shots.
  • Zoom: Pinch in or out to zoom closer or farther from your subject.
  • Cameras: Switch between different camera lenses to change the field of view.
  • Style: Choose a Photographic Style that suits the mood of your image.
  • Tone: Adjust the tone to lighten or deepen the atmosphere of the photo.
