Apple Intelligence Release Date: Oct. 28 with iOS 18.1: Report
Apple is set to release its much-anticipated Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 on October 28, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his Sunday PowerOn newsletter.
The new feature was previously confirmed to arrive in October, but the exact date is now pinned down to the end of the month.
This means new iPhone 16 series buyers will need to wait a few more weeks to get Apple’s AI feature on their phones. Gurman says that Apple is taking extra time with the rollout to iron out major bugs and ensure its cloud servers can handle increased traffic.
The initial version of Apple Intelligence will include features like notification summaries. For Canadians, they need to wait until December to get English Canada support for Apple Intelligence. But we can use Apple Intelligence with US English by changing language settings.
Other later updates, such as iOS 18.2, will integrate ChatGPT and support for Genmoji custom emoji.
By March, iOS 18.4 is expected to finally bring significant upgrades to Siri, enabling it to control apps more precisely and tap into personal information to answer questions.
Other upcoming additions include automated email filing in the Mail app and an Image Playground app for creating custom images.
While Apple is marketing Apple Intelligence as the next best thing for its new iPhone 16 series line up, customers will have to wait six months to get the new revamped Siri, which is pretty crazy when you think about it. That’s half-way into the iPhone launch cycle with iPhone 17 expected in September of 2025.
