Here is Apple’s New M4 Mac mini Walkthrough [VIDEO]
Apple introduced the new M4 Mac mini today, its smallest computer yet, powered by upgraded M4 and M4 Pro chips.
In a major redesign, the new mini shrinks down to 5 by 5 inches, offering huge performance in a smaller form factor. This tiny desktop features front and back ports for easier access and, for the first time, Thunderbolt 5 on the M4 Pro model, supporting 120 Gb/s data transfer speeds.
The company’s Senior Vice President Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, gave another polished Mac mini walkthrough on the company’s YouTube channel today.
The M4 chip powers a 10-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, while the M4 Pro chip pushes things further with 20 GPU cores, delivering 2x faster motion graphics rendering and 2.9x faster 3D rendering than its predecessor. The Neural Engine has also been upgraded, offering 3x faster AI processing for tasks like transcription and photo editing.
Apple highlights the new mini’s versatility for various users, from gamers and video editors to developers and institutions. With macOS Sequoia, it integrates with Apple Intelligence, offering generative AI tools and personal context-aware support through Siri.
A major milestone is achieved with the first-ever carbon neutral Mac, says Ternus. Apple reduced the mini’s carbon footprint by over 80%, using 100% recycled materials, renewable energy in production, and ocean freight shipping to cut transportation emissions.
