How to Record and Transcribe Calls on iPhone with iOS 18.1 [VIDEO]
With the release of iOS 18.1, Apple has introduced a powerful new feature allowing users to record and transcribe phone calls directly on their iPhones.

This addition streamlines call recording, making it easy to capture important conversations, store them, and even access transcripts—all from your device.
Before using the call recording feature, it’s essential to verify if it’s available in your region and language. Once verified, follow these steps to start recording a call on your iPhone:
- Open the Phone app on your iPhone.
- Make a phone call, or answer an incoming one.
- During the call, tap the Start Call Recording button that appears on your screen.
- Both participants in the call will hear an audio notification indicating that the call is being recorded, ensuring transparency.
- When you’re done recording, either tap the Stop button or simply hang up.
All your call recordings are saved automatically in a dedicated Call Recordings folder within the Notes app. From there, you can listen to the recorded call, review the transcript, and even view a summarized version of the conversation, generated through Apple Intelligence.
Note: Call recording is not currently available in the European Union, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
