XREAL released a new firmware update for the XREAL One Pro smart glasses yesterday, bringing smoother visuals and cleaner shortcuts to the wearable display.
The software release slashes motion lag when using Anchor and Follow modes, making video playback and handheld gaming feel noticeably snappier. Gamers using the 21:9 UltraWide layout can now push high frame rates, as the glasses officially support a 90 frames per second input. That extra headroom helps smooth out fast motion and keeps action titles looking fluid.
Navigation also received a handy tweak, as users no longer need to tap through multiple viewing modes with the main X button just to switch on Side View. The top right temple button can now act as a dedicated shortcut for Side View, letting you jump straight into the compact screen layout with a single click.
For 3D movie fans, the update irons out several frustrating playback bugs in the REAL 3D feature. Issues like random black screens, dropped frames, stuttering video, subtitle jitter, and screen tearing have been fixed. Owners can grab the new firmware directly by connecting their glasses to the official XREAL update portal in a browser. Just plug your glasses into your Mac,PC or Chromebook, open Google Chrome and navigate to ota.real.com. You’ll see a pop up window, which you’ll then select your XREAL device and then proceed with the firmware update.
The XREAL One Pro AR glasses ($839 CAD) connect directly to display-capable USB-C devices to project a massive 171-inch virtual screen, featuring built-in speakers tuned by Bose. In brief testing with an iPhone and Mac, performance is smooth for casual media viewing, though the frame can get warm during extended sessions. Powering directly over USB-C avoids a bulky battery pack, but it leaves you with a hanging cable and draws power from your connected device.
