Pokémon TCG Pocket Estimated to be Making $3 Million Per Day

Pokémon TCG Pocket, which launched on the App Store and Google Play last week, is believed to be making upwards of $3 million per day. The game has been developed by Creatures and DeNA.
Early estimates of the mobile game’s earnings come from Appmagic (via mobilegamer.biz). It’s believed that The Pokémon Company is earning around $3 million per day over its first weekend. The report goes on to claim that it’s made roughly $12 million in four days of global availability. Of the global markets, Japan is shown to be the whale, accounting for 43 percent of spending. The US trails behind with 27 percent.
Following the two major markets, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, New Zealand, and France round out the bulk share of spending within the game.
Pokémon TCG Pocket, which launched on October 30th, has received 10 million installs. This was confirmed by the official X (formerly Twitter) account. However, Appmagic estimates that the game has produced 12 million downloads as of November 3rd. The bulk of these come from the US, which is claimed to be contributing to 31 percent of the game’s adoption.
In Pokémon TCG Pocket, players can build their decks with their favourite cards by opening new booster packs each day. Just like the original card game, players can take their earned cards and battle in solo and online battles. Each day, players can open two booster packs for free, earning five randomized cards in each pack. Also, players can engage with Wonder Picks to randomly select a single card from an opened pack made by another player.
Following its launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket soared to the top of the charts. In Canada, the game is sitting in the number one spot for ‘Top Games’ in the App Store. However, the game still has a long way to go from outranking its Pokémon GO counterpart. This mobile title earns roughly $1 million per day. However, the game has been on the market since 2016. It’ll be interesting to see if Pokémon TCG Pocket can keep its momentum.
