Apple and Amazon’s Extra-Long Holiday Returns Now Live in Canada

Apple and Amazon have launched extended return policies for holiday shoppers again, allowing customers extra time to return (and test) products and gifts purchased over the season.

Here’s a breakdown of the holiday return policies:

  • Apple: If you buy something from Apple’s online store between Nov 8 and Dec 25, you can return it by Jan 8, 2025. Items bought after Dec 25 follow Apple’s usual return policy.

  • Amazon Canada: Most items bought between Nov 1 and Dec 31 can be returned by Jan 31, 2025. But for Apple products bought on Amazon, the return window is until Jan 15, 2025.

These extended policies give shoppers more flexibility, especially if you are an early shopper buying gifts in November. These presents given on Christmas Day, can be returned in early January. In Amazon’s case, their holiday return policy is 3 months, which is pretty generous (that’s 1/4 of the year).

For instance, Apple’s new $4,995 Vision Pro headset can be tested out for about two months instead of the standard 15-day return period, if that’s something you’re interested in, and have the cash to fork out.
