Amazon has announced updates to its smart display lineup, with improvements to the Echo Show 15 and the debut of its largest smart display yet, the Echo Show 21.

The Echo Show is essentially a smart display meant to simplify daily routines, manage your smart home and let you stream entertainment.

The new Echo Show 21 features nearly double the screen size of the Echo Show 15, along with improved sound quality and upgraded cameras (it’s reaching the size of a small TV). It includes better audio with deeper bass and noise reduction for clearer video calls. The camera now offers a wider field of view and more zoom, making it easier to stay in frame during calls.

Both models now support Wi-Fi 6E (first Echo devices to support this) for faster streaming and include built-in smart home hubs that are compatible with multiple smart home device standards like Zigbee and Thread.

These displays act as smart hubs for household organization and entertainment. Widgets help manage calendars, to-do lists, and shopping lists, while built-in Fire TV brings streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube and more. The Echo Show 15 and 21 are also digital photo frames, showing family photos or artwork during standby.

Apple is rumoured to launch its own smart home display, but it’s clear Amazon is far ahead with its Echo Show lineup at this point.

The Echo Show 15 is priced at $399.99 CAD, and the Echo Show 21 costs $549.99 CAD and includes an Alexa Voice Remote and wall mounting hardware, with extras accessories like frame kits and stands available for purchase. They are shipping now with Prime delivery speeds.
