Meta’s Threads Surges Ahead with 35 Million New Users
Meta’s Threads has added 35 million users since November 1, 2024, marking significant momentum for the Instagram-linked social media platform (via Axios).

Designed as a rival to X, Threads has experienced three months of consistent growth, averaging over a million new users daily. This surge reflects growing interest among users exploring alternatives to X, particularly after the 2024 election.
The service now boasts 275 million monthly active users, a major milestone in its expansion. Meta is capitalizing on this growth by introducing features like customizable feeds and enhanced search options.
The platform’s appeal lies in its user-friendly features, including a customizable feed experience allowing users to focus solely on posts from accounts they follow. Threads is also testing advanced search capabilities and trending features powered by AI.
In comparison, rival Bluesky has also reported progress, reaching 20 million users. However, it remains much smaller than Threads and X, the latter of which has over 570 million monthly active users globally.
Analysts predict Threads and Bluesky will continue benefiting from users transitioning away from X.

Meta’s emphasis on user-centric innovation positions Threads as a leading contender in the shifting social media ecosystem. The company plans to address moderation concerns and further refine its feature set.

Weird, I'm not on there. Facebook and X are enough for me!
Drop them all and you’ll improve your life.
X is the only one that isn’t actively trying to decide what you think/post or to protect you from “dangerous ideas”.
