Starting December 5, 2024, the company will host daily livestreams featuring new tools and features designed to expand the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, revealed on X that these daily events will include “big launches and stocking stuffers,” hinting at both transformative releases and smaller updates.
Among the most anticipated announcements are the potential rollout of the Sora model, a cutting-edge text-to-video AI generator, and upgrades to existing tools like ChatGPT. Additionally, the livestreams may introduce a holiday-themed voice for ChatGPT and festive UI changes such as a snowflake-decorated interface
Speculation is rife about the unveiling of OpenAI’s newest AI model, codenamed Orion. This model is expected to be a game-changer, potentially offering performance leaps that are 100 times more powerful than GPT-4. While details remain under wraps, Orion may be selectively released to industry collaborators before becoming widely available
Other updates could include enhancements to OpenAI’s reasoning models, expanding their ability to tackle complex problems with human-like precision. Though some reports suggested the possibility of GPT-5 debuting during the event, OpenAI has denied this.
