ChatGPT for Mac Gets Apple Notes Integration

ChatGPT’s capabilities on macOS have taken a significant leap forward as it gets integration with a wide range of third-party applications, including Apple Notes, as announced by OpenAI via a post on X.

With this update, ChatGPT can now interact directly with applications like Apple Notes, Notion, and Quip, making it an even more versatile assistant for managing tasks and information.

Developers will also benefit from integration with IDEs such as BBEdit, Android Studio, and JetBrains tools like IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, and WebStorm. Terminal apps, including Prompt and Warp, are also now supported. Here’s a breakdown of the newly added integrations:

  • Productivity Apps: Apple Notes, Notion, Quip
  • Terminal Tools: Prompt, Warp
  • IDEs: BBEdit, MatLab, Nova, Script Editor, TextMate
  • VS Code Variants: VSCode Insiders, VSCodium, Cursor, WindSurf
  • JetBrains IDEs: Android Studio, AppCode, CLion, DataGrip, GoLand, IntelliJ IDEA, PHPStorm, PyCharm, RubyMine, RustRover, WebStorm

Developers can now ask ChatGPT to review code directly from their IDE and suggest improvements without the need to manually copy and paste. Additionally, the AI can analyze data across multiple apps simultaneously, improving efficiency and productivity.

The new integrations are exclusive to premium ChatGPT plans, including Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Edu subscriptions. Currently, there is no information on whether these capabilities will be extended to free-tier users.

To take advantage of these features, users can download the macOS ChatGPT app directly from OpenAI’s website. While the app itself is free to download, premium subscribers can access the full suite of capabilities by signing in with their accounts.
