Apple Teases Apple TV Save the Date for January 4 and January 5

Apple is teasing something related to Apple TV+ in the new year. In a very vague and innocuous post, the company confirms something will be announced or shown between Saturday, January 4th and Sunday, January 5th, 2025.
Over on X (formerly Twitter), the official Apple TV account posted simple text telling customers to “stay tuned.” Additionally, there is an image from Slow Horses with the text “See for yourself” and the dates January 4 to January 5th. Beyond this, there’s no indication of what Apple could be teasing or lining up for the year’s first weekend.
As first reported by MacRumors, a Reddit thread speculated on several possibilities. The prevailing theory is that Apple may be preparing for its first free weekend for its Apple TV+ subscription. Given that January 4th and January 5th fall on the weekend, Apple could use this as an opportunity to open the floodgates on its content to potentially entice new subscribers to sign up. This would also align with the Season 2 premiere of Severance, which begins streaming on January 17th. The “See for yourself” text also aligns with the ability to jump in and check out some shows from the expansive library.
The other popular theory currently is that Apple may be teasing a Next on Netflix or Geeked Week-style highlight of 2025’s content schedule. On top of the aforementioned Severance, Apple TV+ subscribers can look forward to Prime Target, Mythic Quest Season 4, Side Quest, Dog Thief, The Studio, and much more. This early January tease could be Apple’s save the date to launch new trailers, teasers, and announce even more shows and movies coming to its platform.
Either way, this will be new territory for Apple TV+. In Canada, Apple TV+ is available for $12.99 per month.
