Aqara, a trailblazer in IoT innovations, unveiled a host of cutting-edge smart home technologies at CES 2025, including sleek in-wall control panels, innovative smart switches, advanced sensors, and upgraded Matter controllers.
The company has introduced three innovative in-wall panels:
- Panel Hub S1 Plus: This premium in-wall hub provides centralized control of various devices. Featuring a 6.9-inch touchscreen, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Zigbee functionality, it operates as a Matter bridge, managing up to two wired lights while enabling wireless automation. Users can control thermostats, lights, cameras, and more.
- Touchscreen Dial V1: Designed with a 1.32-inch rotary dial, this device controls wired and wireless fixtures with precision, thanks to haptic feedback and integrated climate sensors. The European release is imminent, with a U.S. launch expected by year-end.
- Touchscreen Switch S100 US: Featuring both buttons and a 1.3-inch touchscreen, this hybrid switch supports Matter over Wi-Fi and functions as a Thread Border Router. With presence detection and adaptive brightness, it’s set to redefine smart home convenience.
Also in the spotlight are the Light Switch H2 and Dimmer Switch H2, optimized for Zigbee and Thread protocols to enhance connectivity. With variants tailored for EU and US markets, these switches cater to homes with or without neutral wiring.
Aqara also showcased advanced sensors designed to improve security, energy efficiency, and comfort:
- Presence Multi-Sensor FP300: This battery-operated sensor employs PIR and mmWave technology for precise human detection. With two years of battery life, the device also includes ambient monitoring capabilities such as light, temperature, and humidity sensors. Fully Matter-enabled, it ensures compatibility across major platforms.
- Climate Sensor W100: Featuring an LCD display for real-time data, the W100 offers dual-protocol support (Thread and Zigbee) for flexible climate management. It also incorporates buttons for intuitive adjustments.
Lastly, Aqara unveiled its new Matter-compatible hubs enhance security and automation:
- Hub M100: Compact and USB-powered, the entry-level M100 bridges Zigbee devices to Matter ecosystems while functioning as a Thread Border Router.
- Doorbell Camera Hub G410: This 2K-enabled doorbell delivers enhanced security with a 176° wide-angle view, end-to-end encryption, facial recognition, and support for RTSP streaming. Whether wired or battery-powered, it integrates seamlessly with platforms like Apple Home and Google Home.
