Philips Hue Unveils AI and Smart Security Innovations at CES 2025
At CES 2025, Philips Hue, under the leadership of Signify, unveiled a host of cutting-edge smart lighting features leveraging advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).

For the first time, Philips Hue introduces an AI-driven assistant within its Hue app. Slated for release in 2025, this feature uses generative AI to create personalized lighting scenes tailored to moods, occasions, or styles. Users can type or speak commands to configure lighting that matches their exact preferences.
“This marks a transformative step in smart lighting. Our AI assistant is just the beginning of a smarter, more intuitive home experience,” stated John Smith, Business Leader at Philips Hue, during the CES 2025 showcase.
Philips Hue is making a bold move into home security with the Hue Secure ecosystem. By integrating cameras, sensors, and lighting, users can achieve seamless protection and control.
Highlighted features include:
- Smoke alarm sound detection to instantly alert users and trigger emergency navigational lighting during potential hazards.
- Enhanced access via iOS widgets and voice commands, allowing quick views of live camera feeds or scheduled automation settings.
- Compatibility expansion, enabling live camera streams on devices such as Amazon Alexa and Google Nest Hub.
A versatile 3-meter USB-C power cable is also part of the lineup, providing flexibility in camera placement.

Moreeover, Philips Hue is extending its Sync TV app to LG TVs running webOS24+ in early 2025. Previously exclusive to Samsung, this app synchronizes dynamic lighting with on-screen content, creating an immersive experience for movies, gaming, and streaming.
The app supports advanced visual formats, including Dolby Vision and 8K resolution.
