Apple Users Continue to Report Weird iPhone Alarm Issues

iPhone users continue to report troubling inconsistencies with the built-in alarm functionality, nearly a year after Apple acknowledged the issue and promised a resolution, as pointed out by The Verge.

Despite software updates and workarounds, problems like alarms failing to activate on time or not sounding at all remain a source of frustration for users relying on the feature for their daily routines.

The initial spotlight on the iPhone’s alarm problem emerged in April 2024 when NBC’s Today show highlighted the issue. Apple responded by acknowledging the reliability concerns and committed to a fix. However, recent reports on social media suggest that the problem is far from resolved.

A Reddit post from user bryanlolwut in the popular r/iPhone subreddit showed a peculiar example: an alarm set for 10:30 AM didn’t go off until 12:42 PM. This unusual glitch, corroborated by screenshots displaying both the incorrect alarm and synchronized time on an Apple Watch, drew significant attention.

Other Reddit users joined the thread, sharing their experiences of similar malfunctions. Some reported alarms triggering hours after the set time, while others mentioned silent alarms that left only a notification behind, with no sound or vibrations to alert them.

Reports suggest the issue spans multiple iOS versions, including the current iOS 18 with Apple Intelligence. Despite updates aimed at addressing the reliability of the alarm system, affected users across platforms continue to struggle with this critical function.

Apple has yet to provide an updated response regarding these continued alarm issues.

I've had problems randomly with the iPhone wake-up alarm since at least iOS 15…
The alarm would trigger normally, but without any sound or vibration.
This happens with or without wearing my Apple Watch.
The screen shows the regular "Snooze" and "Stop" buttons, but all is silent.
Very frustrasting to say the least.

The only bug I've been experiencing lately is one time my Apple watch said I walked 36 feet in 2 hours, yet accounted for calories, movement, and heartbeat that entire time during my regular 7 mile walking workout. Then I take a look at the log for a previous 2 hour walk, and it had divided 2 hours worth of walking into 36 feet segments. Good grief–WHY? All default settings too.
