Google’s Circle to Search Could Soon Provide Tips While Playing Mobile Games

Google’s AI-powered Circle to Search feature could soon provide users a quick and easy way to discover tips while playing a mobile game. Within the Google app v16.0.7 code, a “Get Game Help” function has been discovered.
As first reported by Android Authority, the Get Game Help chip has been found within the Circle to Search feature. This feature has been spotted above the search bar when using the AI-driven feature on an Android device. As said, when tapping on this chip, Circle to Search will screenshot the screen while running a game and perform a Google search using the “Get help with this game” text.
No matter the platform, players always flock to Google to garner tips or guides on played games. Circle to Search could soon do away with the hassle of having to close the game, pop into the Google app and type in the search manually.
Once running a Google search, users will be able to pour through YouTube videos, guides from websites, Reddit forum posts, and more. However, much of its effectiveness hinges on what’s available on Google to begin with. Circle to Search isn’t generating its own results. Instead, its merely creating a screenshot and building out a text query to strengthen the search. So, if Google isn’t able to recognize the game you’re playing or the context within the screenshot, the result from the search may not be the most useful and you may have to refine the search results.
It is worth mentioning that the Get Game Help feature isn’t pristine. According to the report, Circle to Search’s Get Game Help began appearing in non-game apps as well. It currently doesn’t seem to be able to detect the difference between a game and a standard app. However, this is likely to change prior to the feature rolling out to global users. As of the time of writing, there’s no indication of when the Get Game Help chip will be available.
