Eve Cam Apple HomeKit Camera Just Got Key Upgrades

Eve home cam.

Eve has rolled out updates to its Eve Cam, an Apple HomeKit Secure Video (HKSV) indoor smart camera, improving its functionality and user experience.

So what’s new? There’s now motion detection through windows, thanks to image processing, along with clearer night vision that extends up to 5 metres in low-light conditions. The camera now uses USB-C for power, replacing the older micro USB port.

Eve Cam is still priced at $199 in Canada, available on Amazon.ca (we’ll confirm shortly if the Amazon link is the updated version or not).

Existing features include 1080p video recording at 24 fps, two-way audio with a built-in microphone and speaker, and a magnetic base for flexible 360° and 180° installation.

With HKSV support, this ensures encrypted video storage and Apple Home app compatibility, so it’s one to consider if you’re using HomeKit.

So it can be placed inside the house on the window looking out without distracted by reflections, that's easier than mounting an outside camera.
