Apple’s Vision Pro is Finally Getting Apple Intelligence Soon

Apple is preparing to bring Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro for the first time, expanding its AI capabilities beyond iPhones, iPads, and Macs, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The AI-powered features—including Writing Tools, Genmojis, and Image Playground—will arrive as part of the visionOS 2.4 update, which could roll out as early as April, according to people familiar with the matter. A beta version for developers is expected this week.

The Vision Pro is powered by Apple’s M2 chip and 16GB of RAM, which meets the requirements to process AI tasks on-device, similar to Apple’s other flagship devices (sorry anyone that doesn’t have an M1 chip or iPhone 15 Pro or newer).

So what does Apple have up its sleeves? It reportedly plans to launch a spatial content app, which will aggregate 3D images and panoramas from external sources. The company has been slow to release immersive media, but this app aims to showcase more spatial content. Also, on February 21, Apple will release an Arctic surfing immersive video in the Vision Pro’s TV app.

As for a smarter Siri, that won’t come to the Vision Pro just yet. A major Siri overhaul for all devices that was supposed to drop in April has been delayed, according to Gurman’s sources. The Vision Pro costs $4,995 in Canada, so it’s a pretty expensive headset compared to other headsets from Meta, for example.

Also coming is a revamped guest mode, making it easier to let others try your expensive Vision Pro. Users will now be able to manage guest access via their iPhone, rather than setting it up directly on the headset.

Did you buy or have tried the Vision Pro? What do you think?
