Toronto Game Expo to be Held on March 29 to 30

Toronto Game Expo returns this month, offering attendees a weekend-long chance to visit exhibitors and participate in on-site activations.

The second iteration of the Toronto Game Expo will once again be held in downtown Toronto, at the Queen Elizabeth Building located in Exhibition Place. Running from March 29 to March 30th, the two-day event will see more than 500 exhibitors open up shop as well as give indie developers a chance to show off their upcoming games.

Toronto Game Expo is a boutique gaming event. It’s still very much the early days for this inspired event dedicated to video games. In November 2024, the first iteration of the event was held in the city. As a taste test of what the weekend-long expo could be, I attended and was surprised by the sheer turnout. Toronto Game Expo proved to be a place where collectors could congregate and find physical copies of games and merch to add to their collections.

This second iteration only seems to be building off of that foundation. There’s an entire list of partners and exhibitors that’ll be on-site, including GameStop, Asus, and A&C Games. Additionally, the Toronto Game Expo will host a number of guests. This includes Jon St. Jon, the voice behind Duke Nukem. Stephanie Panisello will also be in attendance, best known for her work as Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2. Continuing the Resident Evil theme, Matthew G Taylor, Nemesis in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, will be in attendance as well.

There is also a centre stage at the Toronto Game Expo that’ll be used for a number of events. On March 29, Geeks & Co. will record a live podcast with Stephanie Panisello and Matthew G Taylor on the stage. Cosplay showcases are also being held. On March 30, an hour of gaming trivia will also be hosted for those interested in participating.

Finally, the Toronto Game Expo is also hosting a number of tournaments. Running throughout the expo will be a Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate tournament as well as Mario Kart 8 and more. Last year, an assortment of indie developers were on the show floor, offering free play chances to try their games. As of the time of writing, there’s no confirmed list of indie developers in attendance.

Tickets to the Toronto Game Expo are available now. Single-day tickets start at $28 with VIP bundles also available. More information can be found on the official website.
