Amazon Introduces ‘Interests’ AI-Powered Personalized Shopping
Amazon has just unveiled “Interests,” an AI-driven feature designed to improve the online shopping experience by allowing the users to input prompts in everyday language, and receive product recommendations tailored to their passions.

For instance, a user interested in “brewing tools and gadgets for coffee lovers” can input this prompt, and the system will identify and recommend products that align with this interest.
The “Interests” feature leverages large language models (LLMs) to interpret user prompts and translate them into actionable search queries. It is currently accessible only to a select group of U.S. customers via Amazon’s mobile app and website.
Users can determine their access by checking for the “Interests” option under the “Me” tab in the Amazon Shopping app. Amazon plans to expand this feature to a broader audience in the coming months, aiming to enhance the shopping experience for a larger user base.
In addition to “Interests,” Amazon has also been developing other AI-driven tools:
- AI Shopping Guides: These guides assist users in researching product types and making informed purchasing decisions by providing comprehensive information and recommendations.
- Rufus: An AI-powered shopping assistant that helps users find products and answers queries, enhancing the overall shopping experience.
- Review Highlights: This feature summarizes customer reviews, enabling shoppers to quickly grasp the pros and cons of a product without reading through numerous individual reviews.

By providing sellers with tools to create engaging product listings and offering shoppers personalized recommendations, Amazon aims to further streamline the online shopping process and increase customer satisfaction.
