Google Pixel 9a Release Date in Canada Confirmed

Google previously announced its new Pixel 9a would hit Canada in April, but as of today, we now have a specific release date.

The company announced Canadians can buy the Pixel 9a on April 10, which is the same day as the US and UK. Below are other worldwide release dates for the Pixel 9a:

  • April 14: Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland, France, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Switzerland, Poland, Czechia, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Finland
  • April 16: Australia, India, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia
  • Coming soon to Japan

Google has kept the starting Pixel 9a price of $679 in Canada, keeping the same price as the Pixel 8a but adding upgrades like a tweaked design, brighter 6.3-inch display, Tensor G4 chip, AI-powered camera features, and 7 years of software updates. New tools like Macro Focus, Add Me, and enhanced low-light modes aim to improve photo quality, despite a drop in the main camera resolution from 64 MP to 48 MP.

Why the delay since the mid-March announcement? Google previously said there was an unnamed component quality issue with its first batch of phones.
