Xbox Games Showcase Returns on June 8, Followed by The Outer Worlds 2 Direct

Xbox’s annual Games Showcase will be held in June. This week, the company announced that its Xbox Games Showcase will be live-streamed on Sunday, June 8th, highlighting a series of first-party games studio titles as well as new reveals from third-party partners.

The Xbox Games Showcase will once again be followed by a spotlight Direct. Following the same format of 2023’s Starfield Direct and last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct, Xbox will focus on an upcoming anticipated title from the Xbox ecosystem. This year, The Outer Worlds 2 Direct will highlight new game information from Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming title.

As revealed in an Xbox Wire post, the core livestream will include “a look at upcoming titles from across our first-party studios, in addition to incredible new titles from our third-party partners across the globe.” As of the time of writing, there’s no word on how long the livestream will be.

The Outer Worlds 2 Direct will begin right after and reveal “new gameplay, details, and developer insights.” As of right now, there’s no firm release date set for The Outer Worlds 2. Last year, it was revealed that the game would be arriving sometime in 2025. However, Obsidian Entertainment has been busy, already launching Avowed, a Pillers of Eternity spin-off, this year.

Xbox also confirms that the Games Showcase will be available in over 40 languages and will support American Sign Language, British Sign Language, and English Audio Descriptions.

The Xbox Games Showcase will kick off on Sunday, June 8th at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT. It’ll be live streamed through Xbox’s official channels including YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.
