Leak Reveals Apple’s Upcoming ‘Vision Air’ Affordable AR Headset

Apple is reportedly developing a new mixed-reality headset, tentatively named “Vision Air,” which aims to be a lighter and more affordable alternative to the existing Vision Pro (via 9to5Mac).

Leaked information suggests that this upcoming device will incorporate titanium components and debut in a stylish “Midnight” color, reminiscent of the iPhone 5’s graphite dark blue hue.

The Vision Air is expected to undergo significant design changes to enhance user comfort and wearability. By utilizing titanium in the battery enclosure and internal structures, the headset aims to reduce overall weight without compromising durability.

While the exterior will predominantly feature aluminum, the addition of titanium elements marks a strategic move to address the heftiness of the Vision Pro. The new “Midnight” finish is anticipated to offer a more refined aesthetic, moving away from the prototype-like appearance of the current silver model.

While specific technical specifications remain under wraps, the Vision Air is rumored to be a more budget-friendly option compared to the Vision Pro. Speculation suggests that Apple may achieve cost reductions by omitting certain high-end features, such as the external display and some sensors, to make the device more accessible to a broader audience.

The introduction of the Vision Air could signify Apple’s commitment to expanding its spatial computing offerings, providing consumers with varied options tailored to different needs and price points.

Vision pro apple intelligence.

Although Apple has not officially announced the Vision Air, industry insiders predict a release window between late 2025 and early 2026.
